We made a zine!!! Let’s celebrate with tsuruloosies!

December 21, 2010

Zine by TSURUFOTO!!!

Busy busy boy thanks to crazy work action and short weeks! BUT…that didn’t stop us from releasing our very first zine that you see up above and over to the right!!!

That’s right… a zine!  Appropriately titled TSURUFOTO NUDIEZINE, we essentially took the idea of a classic playboy (photosets combined with articles) and the old punk zines, mixed them together, tsuru-style, built a 16-page (including the cover) 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ closed, black & white photocopied zine with 3 photosets, our zine-exclusive review of the Decemberists The King Is Dead, a tribute of sorts, a craft activity, a new Bears Retweeting, as well as other goodness, ALL for only $4!!!

ONLY $4!?!?!?

Yep!

We’ve already shipped out 6 of them since it was released on Sunday.  All orders are shipped with a TSURUFOTO button (while supplies last) and a link to the pdf version for your e-zine needs!!

Hot damn, eh?

If you reeeeally don’t want to do it through etsy, just email me and we’ll work it out!

Now… in celebration, I figured we’d go through some of those hot & hyped songs floating around on the intertubals of love canals and try to get a little caught up on what you kids are jammin’ to this chilly ass winter solstice!  So hows abouts we gets to its????

Alright!  First up….

The Rural Alberta Advantage – Stamp

Wow. Wow… I can not WAIT until this album!!! Leak. Now. Please.

Turbo Fruits – Keepin’ On

Ah, surf cut with whistle action sounding like it was recorded in a hall way in the 60s. Missing that Turbo Fruits pop & kick but pretty sweet nonetheless.

Wye Oak – Civillian

Hmm… quiet and slightly awkward start, but settles in pretty quickly to a sweet sound. Can’t go wrong with an organ keeping things in line. Her voice sounds so fragile. Then BLAMO! Now we are grooving. Such a lovely juxtaposition in her voice with the band. Kinda meanders along but it works!

Young Galaxy – Cover Your Tracks

Ah, Young Galaxy, where you guys been? Been a long time. Let’s see what we got here. Ooo.. very 80s start. What is that, calypso? Steel drums and synth? I think these guys are shape shifters, from a spacey vibe to a dance thing on their last album to this trippy thingy. Pretty nice, kinda haunting in a old school way. Nice…

Alright, that’s good for today, eh? Time to get back to work! Those zines ain’t going to make themselves! WOOT!

Cheers,
T…

tsuruloosie… Chinatown by Destroyer and when internets collide!

November 23, 2010
By

via the folks at Pitchfork, we get the new Destroyer track called “Chinatown”. Honestly, I’m not loving it. It’s the lead-off track, so it setting an interesting tone, but a leak time will tell how it plays when we get the rest! But for now….. 2 wheelies.

Destroyer – Chinatown (via Pitchfork)

Also… since we are in a mellow mode. Via Gizmodo/Gawker, a slow-motion video of a train station as a high-speed train passes through..

Absolutely mesmerizing! Like a million photographs stitched together….

Now, play the video while the song is playing. FUCKING EPIC, RIGHT???? When internets collide! Mmm…

Cheers,
T.

tsuruloosies: Lucky 1 by Avey Tare

October 8, 2010
By

A quickie!  That new track by Animal Collective / Panda Bear / etc / etc / Blogger Crushee guy Avey Tare called “Lucky 1″.  Figured I’d give it a go, eh?

Avey Tare: “Lucky 1″ (source: P4K)

Hmmm….  pretty, but also pretty boring.  *shrug*  Maybe it’s a transition track between to ball-busting tracks?  Or maybe it’s a slow lead-off track?  If so, may make more sense.. until then:

Cheers!

Tsuru…

A little vacation but a whole lotta tsuruloosies!!!

October 1, 2010
By

Photography by “Suburban Stonehenge” by me!

Happy Friday!!!!  We may be going on a little vacation over the weekend (I’m going down to AZ to see my baby birds), but before we go I’d figured we’d catch up on all the exciting new hyped & hot tracks floating around the intertubes!!!  WOO!

BUT.

Before we go there even, I got to share something new that happened to me, a first, on my bicycle on my ride home last night. There’s always situations where I’m put in DAAANGER here and there, almost always out of ignorance.  I stay vigilant, assume I’m invisible, that there’s always a car right behind me, etc, etc, etc.  But last night, I was cruising along and a Somalian woman pulls up next to me as we are heading toward a traffic light.

Now, before you call me a racists, the ONLY reason I bring up what she was because in her head garb, somehow, she had attached a flip-open cell phone to her head!  To help demonstrate, some google image searching and a little photoshop, it was a little something like this.

Puts a whole new meaning to “hands free”, eh?  Bluetooth?  PSH!

Anywhosal, she pulls up to my left as we are all slowing down for the light that just turned green, she looks me square in the eyes as I look into her’s, she then looks left, I look right, and start to go forward on to see she is turning right….  i.e. right into me.

Some yelling and some rather blasphemous words on my part, and she holds up to let me, you know, live.  Wow.  This was only about 30 minutes after a guy at work almost hit me IN THE PARKING LOT as he jibbered on his iPhone.

Okay, look, I’m careful, got my helmet on (of course), wearing bright clothes, got my lights on, my bike is fucking white & orange, c’mon… Just give me those 3 feet and keep an eye out, okay?  Look, I know there’s a bunch of shitty cyclists out there, I see them every day, going the wrong way, flying down sidewalks, weaving around cars while blowing through stop lights without helmets.  But it’s still a person’s life, so you know…  how about?  The blogger’s life you take, could be the one you are subscribed to!

Enough serious shit!  Let’s get on with some MUUUUUUUUUUSIC!  All tsuruloosie style!

WOOOOT!  Got a bunch of ‘em waiting for wheelie action, so let’s hop to it!!!

Blank Dogs – Northern Islands

Meh… fine, I suppose, a bit lackluster, sounds like it was made on my casio down in the basement.  Nice little guitar bit.  *shrug*

British Sea Power – Zeus

Every time I listen to British Sea Power, I always think of someone else.  In this case, my brain floated from The Features to Arcade Fire!  (Ir)regardless… not too shabby dabby!

Deerhunter – Helicopter

Hey!  We talked about this album already! Trippy tightness!

Fresh and Onlys – Waterfall

Ah!  A traveling song!  ROAD TRIP!!!! lol.  With a name like Fresh And Onlys this better be, well, fresh!  Sounds more familiar than fresh, but I likes it!

Glasser – Home

Glasser, eh?  Didn’t we do this one already?  Like TWICE now?  Still 4 wheelies, but people, why haven’t you dump this in the trash and moved on to your “new jam” yet???  lol.0

Kanye West – So Appalled (feat. RZA, Jay-Z, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz & Cyhi the Prynce)

Oh boy, Kanye, eh?  Okay, I’m a good bloggerin’ so let’s do this.  ”Donald Trump” reference.  Oh my.  ”Rubbers”… huh.  Oh Kanye, this song is “fucking ri-dik-uh-lous”.

Lucksmiths – Get-To-Bed Birds

Ah, chimey brit pop!  A nice palette cleanser.  Sweet & sad…  Awww… nice.

Sharon Van Etten – Don’t Do It

With a name like “Sharon Van Etten” this shit better be tight and BOLD.  Kinda reminds me of Florence And the Machine scissoring Mazzy Starr.

And for that…

The Octopus Project – Fuguefat

Charlie Brown theme song starts this off.  Ever so slightly building…  1/3 the way through, not much happening.  Come on OP, let’s do this!  AH!  1/2 mark, we got bass and stuffs!  Aaaaand… that’s it.

The Radio Dept. – The New Improved Hypocrisy

Zzzzzzzz– huh, what?  Oh, it’s over.

The Suuns – Up Past The Nursery

BOOM-boop-BOOM-boop… oh shit, this guy sings weird.  Does he not move his lips?  Musically pretty cool, his voice is more like an instrument more than “singing”.  Pretty cool and ever so slightly sinister.

The Thermals – Never Listen To Me

Dig these guys, keep meaning to talk about their new album… maybe next week.

Twin Sister – Meet the Frownies

Twin sisters are hot!  lol.  What is it about porn where you put two sisters, twin sisters, getting it on, hotness — yay incest! — yet, a girl and twin brother?  Not so much, eh?  Strange.

Ew.  Yet, those jean shorts?  Awesome!  lol.

Anywhosals, this song, not too shabby, sounds like a lead off song to a pretty chill album!  Nothing incestuous about it all!

What? That’s it!!!  Alright then!!!  That was fun!  Okay, have a great weekend, ya’ll!  We’ll be back either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, maybe a few of our paper crane collective folks will keep you busy during my absence… Until then, go ride yer bikes, go take some photos, but just go have some fun!!!

Cheers!

“Forget You”? More Sufjan, & finally Sunset Psalms by The Shivers!!!

September 10, 2010
By

Photography by curlytops

Okay… happy Friday and all but… before we begin, we got to discuss this.

“Forget You” instead of “Fuck You”? Really? “Fah-get”? Yes, I know censoring for radio stations still occurs, but c’mon. Word change-outs are the worse form of music censorship, don’t you think? Chaning “fuck” to “forget” completely kills the fun & impact & the viralnicity of the song. Better would’ve been clever blanking or, I don’t know, how about get creative and do really bad dubbing of stupid words like “fletch” or something.

But…. and this is crazy, I know, how about you just don’t change it. How about you realize that people get their music via iTunes, Amazon, Youtube, etc, be true to what you created, and let the dinosaur radio stations deal with turning down the volume at the scary f-word, s-word, and variation on the n-word.

Where “Fuck You” is a solid 4 to 4 1/2 wheelies out of 5…. “Forget You” is a solid dud. Sorry my friends. Lyrics matter.

Speaking of tsuruloosies…

We gots a new Sufjan song out on the loose! On the lamb!!!

Sufjan Stevens – Too Much

After a rather annoying start, it settles into a not quite as annoying song.  Not too shabby, but feels…. transitional.  I think that’s it on the Sufjan songs until the album rears it’s head!

So, with that, let’s get on with the reason for the season of the pleasin! Sunday Psalms by The Shivers!

Image

Oh man, where the hell have these guys been all my life? Some kind of modern bluesy reincarnate of Lou Reed, with all the swagger you could hope for, bottled up into something called The Shivers? Why yes, you DO give me shivers, of awesomeness! I could almost see these guys setting up in an old abandoned church down in New Orleans, testifying their sweatiness for the few down-trodden parishioners that happen to wander by….. now THAT’S a revival I could believe in!

Open your hymnals to page 132 and enjoy!

Ah! But before we go….

HEY! How’s your fan sign for our contest coming???? You only got 8 days left to enter!!!!!! HURRY! HURRY HARD!!!

A NEW CONTEST INSPIRED BY @WELISTENFORYOU & a whoooole bunch o’ tsuruloosies!!! WHEEE!

September 2, 2010
By

Okay….  We are way overdue to settle a little matter once and for all.

Yesterday good friend, fellow music blogger, and pimp / video director / marketing mastermind for the band The Pass, Zach over at We Listen For You released upon the world (and by world, I mean the blog and, consequently, the twitters) the new music video for The Pass called Vultures, which we featured yesterday as A) he’s a friend and B) the video is awesome in two respects, 1) house party, yay! and 2) it features 38 references to various music blogs in the bloggy blogosphericals!

So far, so good, right?

Well… mostly.  You see… well actually, before we go further, quick related side note.

I’m often asked by people going into bloggerin’ for advice on “how to be a successful blogger”, the first thing I usually tell them is to NOT name your site something that people can neither spell or pronounce.   Yeah, yeah, it’s unique, whoop-dee-fucking-doo.  Hooray for you, you made a new thinger.

English 101: S’s come BEFORE T’s, when a word goes “Ts..” people have no idea what to do.  This means that, outside a little word o’ mouth from people who have stumbled upon us via Hype Machine or Elbows or, now, Shuffler, the only other way to get here was by searching for Tennessee State University radio and accidentally coming here — man, you Tennesseers must’ve been coooorn-fused!

But… I expect more from my friends, more from my nose, but not more from my friend’s nose — which I do enjoy picking.  So, you can imagine my excitement to see “my reference” in the Pass video and, when my .027 seconds of viral fame came up, I saw this:

T-U-R-S-U-RADIO… right at the 0:47 second mark.  See for yourself:

Ouch.

Now, Zach and the boys are giving away real genuine moneys to whoever can name the 38 music site references in the video, $50 smackers to Insound plus The Pass CD, and as awesome as that is, this whole enlightening and traumatizing experience inspired me to do my very own contest.

YAY!

Here’s how it goes………  All you have to do is send in a Fan Sign photo!  Yep, a photo of you, or your boobs, or someone, or something, or you neighbor’s dog, or… well, you get the idea, holding up some sorta fan sign with “TSURURADIO” in it AND SPELLED CORRECTLY!!!  Kinda like what Drew is doing up there at the top of this post.  You have until FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17th to enter by sending the photo (or hell, the video? why not?) to tsururadio (at) gmail (dot) com.

Then, we’ll pick our favourite and the winner will win…………………………….

$30 Gift Certificate To AmazonMP3 (or hell, even Insound or GEMM, why not?)!!!

WOOOOOOOT!!  Right out of my pocket and into yours!  So…. between ol’ Zach & myself, that’s a chance to win $80!!!   Not too shabby.  Can we get an applause?

Thank you.

So, get photographizin’!!!!   BUT, before you run off to grab yer cameras, how about we check in on the intertubal interconnections of love potatos and see what’s going on out there in music land.  That’s right, my friends, it’s time once again for………

TSURULOOSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, TSURURADIO (that’s T-S-U-R-U-R-A-D-I-O) is the gift that keeps on giving today!   Looks like a lot has changed in hot & hyped land since our last tsuruloosie post, so lets check in and see what’s what.  As always, I rate songs out of a possible 5 wheelies!!!  Let’s pull up our front wheels and hop to it!

Cee Lo Green – Fuck You

Just learned this is the guy from Gnarls Barkley.  No kidding, eh? Nice song! Outside the fuck angle, it’s really just a sweet fun retro-goodness song. And I like that. here’s the vid that’s been floating around.

Cotton Jones – Somehow Keep It Going

I thought I did this one already?  Not sure.  Dark, atmospheric, bad ass.

Dead Confederate – Run From The Gun

Hot damn! 3 for 3 so far!!! Viddy for this one too!

Dominant Legs – About My Girls

Hmm… taking me back to the 80s-ish.  Not too shabby.  Something old, something new!  I’m in!

El Guincho – FM Tan Sexy

Meh.  Not my cup o’ tea.  Sounds….. played.

Glasser – Home

Hey, I remember this!  Still hot?  Nice… I still like it too!

Ra Ra Riot – Boy

Ra Ra Riot… makes me want to go jog!  That’s not a bad thing, but I rather be on my bike! Duh.

Starfucker – Julius

Yes, the “fuck” trend is getting old, wonder if they are regretting that name yet?  Oh well.  Song?  Kinda reminds me of The Pass a smidge, actually…. That’s a good thing!  YAY!  Shake my booooo-tay!

Sufjan Stevens – I Walked

I KNOW I did this one already.  5 Stars. Beautiful. Stunning.  I’m finally a Sufjan fan.

The War On Drugs – Comin Through

Last one!  Sufjan’s a tough act to follow… Ooo… I like this!!  Sounds like Grant Lee Buffalo with a bit more push, more oomph!  Nice!!!

Woo! That was fun!!! We haven’t had that much tsuruloosie success in a long time!!!  Either I’m hip or you guys are just finally in my happy place — what took you?  Let’s do it again sometimes? Until then, GO TAKE SOME FAN SIGN PHOTOS!!!!!

Cheers!

Tsuru

P.S.  Zach, my friend, I know you were just making fun of the fact that no one can spell “tsururadio”…. I love you, man!  I wish you nothing but success with WLFY and The Pass!

tsuruloosie: I Walked by Sufjan Stevens

August 27, 2010
By

So.. learning from his musical brethren amongst the internettals, Mr. Jesus Stevens is following up a surprise & very buzzable EP with a an album to make sure them twitters keep on tweetin’ about him! It sounds like it may be absolutely prog-tastic!

Well, the first song as “dropped” as well, making three Sufjan-bombs to hit the tubals within the past week or so. Kudos, my man… kudos. So, how’s the first track? Let’s tsuruloosie this bitch out of 5 wheelies and see!

Sufjan Stevens – I Walked

Wow.

Hot fucking sauce!!! Anyone who’s anyone knows, I’m not Sufjan lover of old, though I really liked that new EP. But holy shitake mushrooms growing out of Jesus’ ass this is gorgeous! Not prog at all, just Mmm….. Slow ee-lec-tronical yummy yum yum.

Nice way to end the week!

Cheers!

tsuruloosies? yeah, i’m back from outer space.

By

One fine day I came home from work to find that my mother had turned off our interwebs. Brief interludes at the local library just were not enough to sustain my Facebook Generation self. So here I am at my pseudo-sister’s house crashing on her couch and stealing her neighbor’s internet. Yeah, she doesn’t have her own, either. At least it’s cooler than sitting in my car at the end of my country driveway stealing MY neighbor’s internet. Oops.

The blogosphere likes the Ting Tings. I like the Ting Tings. So does the cool hippie mom I babysit for. Score for her. New single out!

The Ting Tings – Hands

New/old album out from Fort Worth, TX (aka HOMETOWN) band the Toadies. According to legend, Universal-owned Interscope screwed them over and now they just got to put out this album originally recorded 13 years ago. I was a wee lass, but ah, the good times I have had hearing the Toadies on local radio. Twin (aka BFF) first made me listen to them, but since then they do pop up on their own. Check out this track (and yes, it is Dallas that is known as the City of Hate, and no, Dallas and Fort Worth are not the same thing. They’re a good 45 minutes away. Tidbit: DFW is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. And yes, the traffic sucks.) Okay, now that I’ve officially given the White House tour of the Metroplex, here is the TOADIES.

Toadies – City of Hate

Speaking of Twin, while she was recently on her honeymoon, I installed drawer pulls on all of her kitchen cabinets and stole this cool looking album by an Australian band called Summer Cats. The album is entitled Songs For Tuesdays, which was enough to draw my attention on its own. I love Tuesdays. I love the WORD Tuesday. Anyway. Without further ado, here is “Wild Rice.”

Summer Cats – Wild Rice

When I go to Austin, I try to stop in a Half Price Books and check out the clearance CD section. Local bands tend to take their EPs and albums to sell just to get them out there, and I get to pick them up for a buck if they look cool enough. That’s how I wound up with the next two awesome songs, both taken from my 2010 Summer Songs mix [that I still haven't finished].

Early Beat – Lost Lover

The Royal Chains – Lucy Takes the Dare

And for the road, here’s a song from one of my recent swing dance DJ sets…”That’s What I Hate About Love” by the Spirits of Rhythm. That’s heaven, right there.

Spirits of Rhythm – That’s What I Hate About Love

Amelia, over and out.

Catching up with tsuruloosies!!! What the hell’s going on out there?

Hey man, been a while and in all that time, lots of shit has come down the pipe and into the hearts and minds of those who care about what’s currently in the pipe! I, not wanting to be left out in the cold and lead you astray, warshed up, on the shore, left dead & dying, whilst all the cool kids pass us by on this highway of intertubal sci-fi space canals, felt it was time and I was due to check in on the hyped up & hopped up pulse of los musica! Let’s pull up our wheel & hop to it! Here’s the latest and greatest, rated out of a possible 5 wheelies!!!

Hmmm………  Hmmmm…….  4 non-blondes + a bit of old weezer?

Sir Dandy – Jakarta Motorcity

Nah.

Sputniko – Google Song

The google song, eh?  Guess a catchier title wouldn’t have conveyed that it’s about google?  I mean, they only sing “google” about 4,133 times.  Movin’ on.

The Body Lyre – Pig

They call me MR. PIG!!!!  Or maybe Mr. Cohen?  Cool, dark song… I smell mixtape.

The Clientele – Jerry

Hey… we like these guys!  New song, I guess?  Let’s see…. Long intro takes us to sweet vocaled Clientele goodness!  I’m in!  Very hot summery hazy feeling….. Makes me want to sit on the porch and drink lemonade.

The Kyoto Connection – HEAT

No more faux-80s please.

The Walkmen – Stranded

I think Grafista covered this one.  Yay new Walkmen! Horn-a-rific!!!  Mmmm…………….

Wet Paint – Dead Night

Wheee!!!!!!!!  Not too shabby dabby!  Diggin’ that bass-line baby!

Women – Eyesore

Girls, Women, and stuff. Who’s who? Can’t remember anymore.  Were there always band name trends?  I guess.  Let’s see what we got with “Eyesore”.  Kind of a muddled mess.  Not feelin’ this bad boy.  Sorry Women.

Well, that was fun, eh?  Sorry we didn’t end on a high note.  Been listening to Hard Drugs today, so if you want some good times, go here and listen too! Family’s almost in town, so I gots ta run! No promises on a post tomorrow, priorities, my friends. If not, have a great weekend everyone! Love & smooches!

Cheers!

tsuruloosies! 2 new Modern Skirts tracks!

July 6, 2010
By

Well, what do you know, our friends over at Modern Skirts got a lil’ EP coming out (and an album after that, yay prolific song-writing) called Happy 81! We got privy to tow of the tracks off the new guys so hell, I figured, how about a hot (seriously, it’s like 1,233 degrees F with 459% humidity outside) afternoon tsuruloosie post to cool us off, eh? Word is they are eschewing the “pop muscle” they flexed on their last album to find “the band starting to push its own boundaries”.

Yep.

What does that mean? No clue. Let’s find out! Just like this morning, it’s out of 5 wheelies!!! WHEEE!

Modern Skirts – DUI

Yeah… not so much. What is this, some weird reggaton meets carnival meets huh?

Modern Skirts – Rebecca St. Claire

Mmmmm….. O Brother Where Are Though meets Modern Skirts, now THAT’S more like it! Happy!

There you go! 2 of 7 tracks ready for your absorption, love, and/or rejection!

Cheers,
Tsuru

tsuruloosie & a “you heard it here first” scoop! I Don’t Believe You by The Thermals

July 6, 2010
By

Hey kiddos! A quickie tsuruloosie for ya but first a scoop!  On our flight back from Calgary on Sunday, we were on the same plane as The Thermals as they made their way to Chicago for a show.  Well, I think they sat near a fan and as we deboarded (is that the proper word?) our flight in “Chi-Town”, I heard the lead singer dude tell the fan girl that next year they’ll be touring and will only be doing Alice In Chains covers! Very exciting stuff!  As much as I enjoy their brand of power-pop goodness, that will be a fun treat indeed!

Also, side note, their bassist is a total hottie…

Okay, and now the tsuruloosie!  WHEEE!  As I am wanton to do, simply rated out of 5 wheelies!

The Thermals – I Don’t Believe You

Easy-peasy power-pop-punk goodness!  Check, done!

Cheers,

Tsuru

hello from your new tsuruloosies cruise director + music swag for ya.

DEAR TSURURADIO READERS,

Hi. My name is Amelia and I will be your tsuruloosies cruise director.  Well now, this IS exciting! I’ve been scouring the interwebs to bring you a few tracks that are getting some news in the blogosphere and I do believe I have a few tasty  musical treats for you.
First up, The Dead Weather (which is the super-group consisting of Alison Mosshar, Jack White, Dean Fertia, and Jack Lawrence) has a new album out. The first single off the album, released May 11th in the US is “Die By The Drop.” I’m not a big Dead Weather fan, but I like this. The intro steadily draws you in through the first verse, where it blasts you with the chorus, and then backs down again to repeat the process. Woot.

Die By The Drop – The Dead Weather by sincelastdecember

Next is off Roky Erickson’s new album with Okkervil River. His first album of new material in 14 years. You can SO tell he’s from Texas. I know. I am also from Texas. Fancy that. Now, this doesn’t really sound like what you would expect from a pioneer of psychedelic rock, but hey. Whatever the man digs, right? Eh. I like Okkervil River. I’m not a big fan of Roky’s twang, but then, I hear too much twang every day.

3/5

Bring Back The Past – Roky Erickson by sincelastdecember

Lately I’ve been totally obsessed with Sophie Madeleine’s cover of Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice (It’s All Right). It’s my favorite Dylan song (and I am a Dylan fan), and I think this is my favorite Dylan cover. There. High praise for my favorite chick with a ukulele. *nods emphatically* Hence how this got on the list without being blogged! Yes.

Don’t Think Twice (It’s All Right) – Sophie Madeline by sincelastdecember

And finally, my favorite little UK darlings (and Apple’s darlings, too, if you’ve heard the music on the new iPhone commercials), The Boy Least Likely To. They released an EP back in April that I have NOT found on the blogosphere, but it rightfully belongs there. Hence this. I actually asked the singer to marry me once, but it was over twitter and I don’t think he noticed. Jof, if you see this, the offer still stands! Bahaha. But seriously. Check this swag.

Happy to Be Myself – The Boy Least Likely To by sincelastdecember

Oh, and I almost forgot! The Eclipse soundtrack leaked. Florence + The Machine? Yes. Um yes yes yes and thank you for creation of this utter JOY. The only reason I accept that the Twilight series exists in the world is because their soundtracks are totally boss. Case in point.

tsuruloosies: Washing down the bad with the good!

By

tsuruloosies…. in our new format, I think it’s high-time get back to being their own post, don’t you?  Me too!  What a coincidence!!!  We are actually in the process of “interviewing” someone to be our resident track-review-expert (I’m really more of an album guy and my desire to stay “hip” and “hyped” is fading faster than this planet being pulled into this star!  I’ll do it for now, of course, but keep an eye out for a shiny new face to fall for soon!!

We got two today…. Let’s do it!

MIA – XXXO

Deer jeebus found on roadside… dead.  This is a hot mess.  This sounds like a bad B-version of Disney/Nickelodeon star “turning 17 and going naughty”.   What a boring mess.  Sorry.

Damien Jurado – Cloudy Shoes

Ah………………….. MUCH better!  Got a string-cheesy thing going on but it works!  Let’s the distorted echos…  Yeah, it’s a heart-string-tugger, but after that “XXXO” crap, much needed and much welcomed!  YAY!

Cheers!

The Handmade Nation Screening & Crafty Cotillion trunk show, a mini-vacation, tsuruloosies, AAAAAND a twofer “my” Friday with Grey Oceans by Cocorosie & Pink Graffiti by Secret Cities?!?! HOLY SHITAKE MUSHROOMS!

Hey kiddos…  Well, it’s that time again, time for your boy to head down to sunny (and I mean S-U-N-N-Y) Mesa, Arizona to visit some family.  Now, I’ve got black hair and I’ve been riding my bike alot (giving me a decent tan), so I’ll make sure to take my birth certificate, just in case some cop decides that I might not be “legal”. Now, even though I might not be posting over the 3 day weekend (I’ll be back on Monday, no worries), keep an eye out for one of our other wonderful contributers to pop in (you never know!), and if that’s not enough for your greedy greedy heart, you can always come play along here:

Our Society

AH! And guess what!  If you are in or near Columbus, OH this weekend, the talented, incredible, awesome, and (may I add) S-E-X-Y Crafty Cotillion are hosting a screening of the documentary Handmade Nation as well has holding a Spring Trunk show on Saturday, May 8th at 3pm at Studio 35 (3055 Indianola Ave.).

The trunk show will precede the screening from 1-3pm. Arrive early to enjoy a beer and shop for the perfect handmade Mother’s Day gift. Participating Cotillion members include: AmyD, Crafty Beavers, Laura Stith, Maram, Mary Martineau, Mary Moon DesignsMiss Megan MacOut of the Pink SkyPoshta Stationery & DesignStinkybombSweet Stella DesignsTornangel012Tsurubride (YAY BABY!!!), Umbrella Girl ProductionsWhat the Rock?!, & Wholly Craft!!!

So, go buy yer momma something special, okay?  She deserves it… she raised your gnarley ass!

Okay, before we get to the new music, I was super surprised when I poked over to the elbows and saw that there was a whole slew of new hot & hyped songs on their hot & hyped list!  I was all like, “whaaaa?” and the interwebs was all like, “yah! I know, right?!”  So… with that means it’s time, once again & already, for our vaulted TSURULOOSIES!!!!

As always, we are judging the songs with a wheelie rating, maximum of 5 wheelies!  So, let’s get to it!!!

Books – Beautiful People

Okay, starts off with “Bohemian Rhapsody” in reverse, I think but then falls into a sweet little groove.  Nice.

Dom – Living In America

Hey! this isn’t a cover of that James Brown song! It’s just more dance music.

Korallreven – The Truest Faith

Amazon rainforest, tender. New age dance? Where’s that Yanni sample?

Pallers – The Kiss

C’mon people!  Snooze fest.  Let’s get this shit started already!

Phosphorescent – The Mermaid Parade

Not exactly exciting, but.. getting there, ish.

Wolf Parade – Ghost Pressure

Hey, the new Wolf Parade we mentioned the other day? Hmm… Not bad. Starts off meh, but picks up.  Not bad.

Wolf Parade – What Did My Lover Say

The other one, the Krug one. Better, yes… Better. Time to stop listening to WP, got an album coming out soon, and they are an “album band”, so no more singles, okay guys?

Okay… that’s enough of that! Let’s get on to our twofer (my) friday, first up, Pink Grafitti by Secret Cities!

Image

Okay, this is for fans of Grizzly Bear and that other band by them Eagles something (can’t get it in my head, though I’m soooo close), as you have the same over all aesthetic of layers and harmonies and something bigger than it first appears going on.  Just ornate & beautiful, often haunting, compositions & harmonies.  When I happened on this album, was just kinda floored in the way it pulls you into a dream of sorts, not a carnival, but I’m having a difficult time getting the right imagery, but definitely an escapist memory trapped in the back of your head, only to come out when you are fast asleep.

Man.. what a horrible description. Sorry  Secret Cities!  How about we just let the music speak for itself, eh?

1. Pink City
2. Boyfriends
3. Slacker
4. Pink Graffiti pt. 2
5. Wander
6. Color
7. Aw Rats
8. Pink Graffiti pt. 1
9. Vamos A La Playa
10. The End

Some Secret Cities love: Myspace | Label

Next up? The Fugliest Album Cover Of The Year winner, hands down, Grey Oceans by Cocorosie!!!

Image

Seriously ladies… what the fuck.  I get it, you are making a statement or whatever, challenging me and stuff. But, you know, how about just a nice photograph of something?  Give some unknown photographer a moment vs whatever the fuck that is.

Okay, regretful album covers aside… this album.  Oh my.  It’s kinda fucked up and at first listen it kinda reminds me of Laurie Anderson on drugs, but after a few times through, you get kinda addicted. A syrupy addiction, sticky, weird, and yummy.  Once again, I’m at a loss for even remotely proper descriptions.  0 for 2, SA-WIIIING and a miss!

Oh well.  I think the lead-off track, “Trinity’s Crying” and the single “Lemonade” really give you the range of the odd addictiveness. Check it out then go preorder the vinyl (the cover is much better, kinda)!!!

1. Trinity’s Crying
2. Smokey Taboo
3. Hopscotch
4. Undertaker
5. Grey Oceans
6. R.I.P. Burn Face
7. The Moon Asked the Crow
8. Lemonade
9. Gallows
10. Fairy Paradise
11. Here I Come

Some Cocorosie love: Myspace | Official | Label

Pretty cool, eh?  Well that’s it!  Have a great weekend, everyone!  Go riding, have fun, and we’ll see you here on Monday!

Cheers my friends & until next time,

tsuruloosies and twofer Friday with All Creatures Will Make Merry by Meursault & The Monitor by Titus Andronicus!!! Hot diggity!

April 30, 2010
By

Photography by Scott James Prebble

WOOT! It’s mother-fucking Friday & I got an arm full of alligators!!!!  It’s what we’ve been working toward, right?  Another week of spending 5/7th’s of our lives waiting for the other 2/7th’s to begin?  WOOT?

haha.

Anyway, it’s been a pretty action-packed week musically & emotionally & whatever, so how about we end this bad boy with a bang?   I got just the right firecracker for ya, some tsuruloosies & a twofer Friday!!!  Now, where’s that real woot?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!

Ah, that’s better!  Let’s do this thing!!!!  First up, a fresh batch of tsuruloosies to get us up to speed to what’s hot & hyped on the interwebbal superhighway of info love & puff & stuffs!!!

As always, we rate these nuggets out of 5 wheelies!  By the way, for the roadies out there, if you do a wheelie, don’t bounce your bike around like this, you’ll just fuck your wheel up and honestly, wheelies aren’t that impressive unless you are, you know, like 8 years old.  Okay, enough preacherin’, let’s get on wif it!

Beach Fossils – Youth

Ah shit, off to a meh start.  It’s fine & stuff, but just kinda meh.  A bit too rainy-day sounding for me (today).

Blur – Fools Day

huh.  Again meh. *shrug*  C’mon folks, hit me with something!

Crystal Castles – Celestica

Okay, better.  This is pretty. I just wish the rest of the album was remotely tolerable, oh my.

HEALTH – USA Boys

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but man… so many of these “hot songs” are just…. fucking boring.  Not bad, just zzzz.

MIA – Born Free

Without the video to distract us, we can actually listen to the song now!  Oh my. This sucks. Sorry. Heavy reverb/echo jibber-jabber over an annoying noise & drums?  Ugh. As the nasty bitches (male & female) say on that MTV channel, “NEXT!”

NOTE: Yeah, I still gots it!

Sleigh Bells – Tell Em

Okay, this one was ALL OVER THE TWITTERS.  I heard it was intense & epic & stuff.  Let’s see.  Not sure about intense & epic, but definitely fun!  And after those boring tracks (and that MIA thing), I’ll take it!

The Love Language – Heart to Tell

Woah, acoustic guitars? After the other songs, I thought we were knee deep in an electronic-week trend.  This is cute! Fun & cute! Sweet!  Now THIS is good for a sunny & gorgeous Friday, think we should we end this here, on a good note. This is sway your head side-to-side with a grin on your face music!  YAY you!  YAY me! YAY internet!

WOO!  Need to catch my breath there.

All…. right!  I don’t know about you, but I feel all caught up and hip and hyped and shit!  Movin’ on! We got two gems we just gots ta talk about today!  First up is the latest gem from Meursault, All Creatures Will Make Merry!

Yes, they really do have 40 u’s in their band name.  For christ’s sake, you’d think they were Canadian — wait a sec, are they?– with all the u’s.  Hell, Canucks even put a u where it doesn’t remotely belong just to get an “ou” action.

“Yogourt”?  Really Canada?  I mean, look, I do the “favourite” & “colours” thing, but yogurt is Y-O-G-U-R-T, no two ways about that one my dear frozen friends.

Anywhosal. The other day when Song, By Toad Records dropped a few tracks on us, we were pretty excited. This is one of those bands that just seems special, you know?  The band describes this effort at “epic lo-fi” and even though, as Toad said, that’s about as meaningless as saying they sound like chocolate pudding, I also can’t seem to come up with any other words for it.  Acoustic + lo-fi + homemade electronics + maybe an Irish folk flavour (yeah, “flavour”, but still, not yogourt) + fuck if I know.  My brain also wants to tie them in with Frog Eyes & Sunset Rubdown a little, though that’s not really accurate either.

(Ir)regardless… It’s pretty beautiful, but it is “an album”, I don’t think single tracks do it justice, but let’s give it a try anyway, eh?

1. Payday
2. Crank Resolutions
3. All Creatures Will Make Merry
4. Weather
5. One Day This’ll All Be Fields
6. What You Don’t Have
7. Another
8. New Ruin
9. Sleet
10. Song for Martin Kippenberger
11. A Fair Exchange

Some Meursault love: Myspace | Label

Ah! And here’s their last album on the lala’s!  Suh-weet.

Pissing On Bonfires/kissing Wi…

And just like the post title and my general ramblings implied, nay stated, we ain’t done yet because we have also been listening to and loving the seemingly cantankerous The Monitor by Titus Andronicus

Cantankerous in that heavy-saliva type yelling way.  You can almost hear the slobber as he hollers out all his emotions that drip up and down his sleeve.

Yes, I know that doesn’t make much sense but chances are you follow me, eh?  Man, assuming a community mic, I would NOT want to go on after these guys without dipping that bad boy in some rubbing alcohol!

For some reason, when listening to The Monitor I hear a more cerebral Dropkick Murphys.  Weird, eh?  It’s not accurate, to be sure, but it’s my brain, and that’s just how my brain goes!  Maybe it’s the general aesthetic of his voice, matched with the working-man’s thematics (man, look at that word use!) that pull up the similarities?  Not sure, but it’s pretty wonderful.

1. A More Perfect Union
2. Titus Andronicus Forever
3. No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future
4. Richard II
5. A Pot in Which to Piss
6. Four Score and Seven
7. Theme From ‘Cheers’
8. To Old Friends and New
9. …And Ever
10. The Battle of Hampton Roads

Ah, and check it!  Here’s the whole damn thing on lala! Guess I’m in a lala state of mind, eh?

The Monitor – Titus Andronicus

Niiiiice….

That’s it!  Have a wonderful weekend everyone, should be a busy one for me between riding and tsurufying (kinda like testifying, but much more debauchery oriented).  Much love & cheers,

It’s Friday Madness! tsuruloosies, Everyday Balloons by A Weather, AND Born And Thrown On A Hook by Drink Up Buttercup? Hot diggity dog!!!

Well, howdy howdy!!! It’s Friday and I got lots to share & discuss! Excited? Me too!  First up, some local bits… This weekend in Columbus is Couchfire Collective’s A-HOLES!

That’s right Baby & the Crafty Cotillion, among many other artists & crafters, have built mini-putt-putt golf holes, some really fucked up awesome designs, that you drop a few bucks and try to play!  I won’t give much away about the holes, but I will say 3 “words” in relation to the Cottillion’s hole: Cupcakes, PBR, and Vaginas.

‘Nuff said, right?  I’ll see you there.

OKAY!  On to the music!  First up, our vaulted tsuruloosies!  Where we take a gander around the intertubal super infohighway of love and see what’s hot & what’s hyped and get ourselves up-to-speed with all you “cool kids”!   There’s a bunch out there I haven’t heard, so let’s get right to it…

Alright!  Here we go!  As always, we review tsuruloosies on a scale of 0 to 5 wheelies!  No… not this kind.

This kind…

You know, the actual “cool kind”!   This time via the bearded illustration of Mike Giant as I still have facial hair on my mind!

So, let’s pull up our front wheel and get our cat walk on!

Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti – Round and Round

Hmm….  kinda meh for me.

ARMS – Heat & Hot Water

Pretty cool, miss you Harlem Shakes, but if ARMS keeps this up, we’ll be okay.

Cults – Go Outside

Nice… nice…. I’m a sucker for a children’s chorus.

Dr. Dog – Stranger

Haven’t heard from these guys in a while, glad their back!  Missed U!  Song feels a little incomplete, but I get the feeling with the rest of the album around it, we’ll be allllright.

Holy Fuck – Latin America

Never “got” these guys…. still don’t.  Oh well.

Kisses – Bermuda

*shrug*

MGMT – Flash Delirium

Heard around the interwebs that people haven’t been in love with this?  I kinda like it!  It’s not “Kids” or whatever, but who cares.  If I wanted “Kids”, I’d listen to “Kids”, no?

Neon Indian – Sleep Paralysist

Ah, hot and hyped band indeed, part of that “chillwave” thing, right?  I don’t know, sounds like I already lived through this “movement” 20 years ago or something.  Meh, it’s all-ite.

Wye Oak – I Hope You Die

Love these guys, glad they are back… can’t wait to hear the rest!!!

WOOO!!! That was fun! And now that we are up to date on what’s hip & hyped, let’s move on to the two albums that have been competing for my love an attention the past few days! First up… Everyday Balloons by A Weather!

Image

I really like this, and I think it’d be right up Baby’s alley as well.  Sweet male/female vocals, maybe a Swell Season kinda feel to it, just hushed & smart folk/pop.  Reflective, a bit introspective, but still fun, a nice balance.  We’ve featured “Winded” in a mixtape, but check out the lead-off track and between the two, you get a pretty good feel of where we are going here….

1. Third Of Life
2. Winded
3. Ducks In A Row
4. Seven Blankets
5. Midday Moon
6. Newfallen
7. No Big Hope
8. Fond
9. Happiness
10. Giant Stairs
11. Lay Me Down

A Weather love: Myspace | Official | Label

Ooo! Even got a little viddy vid for ya…

Ah! But like the post title says, we are not done, my friends!! Because  Born And Thrown On A Hook by Drink Up Buttercup has been all up in grill this week too, serving as quite the contrast to A Weather!

Image

Really had no idea what to expect on this, saw words “indie” and “lo-fi” and whatnot, but what I got from it is a kinda-demented Sgt. Pepper thing!  It’s all over the place, rhythmically speaking, it’s quirky sing-alongs, ala that circusy style, and really, if you can handle the vocals, I think you’ll have one hell of a good time!

WOOT!

1. Seasickness Pills
2. Animate The Hangtime
3. Young Ladies
4. Doggy Head
5. Even Think
6. Gods and Gentlemen
7. Lovers Play Dead
8. Who Spilled The Beaker
9. Heavy Hand
10. Pink Sunshine
12. Sosey and Dosey
13. Mr. Pie Eyes
14. Maestro Monsiour

Buttercup love: Mypace | Official | Label

That’s it!  Have a WONDERFUL weekend, everyone!  Keep an eye out for, hopefully, another Peanut’s Playground soon and maybe even a new column by our latest edition Dorice!  AAAAAND (no promises), if I get a little time between bike rides & photoshoots & miniature golf, I’ll see if I can get a special vinyl-repost up in honour of a fallen icon.

Cheers everyone!  May all your winds be tailwinds!

The continued assault on boobies and Twofer Friday with tsuruloosies & And Then We Saw Land by Tunng! Hot diggity!!!

February 26, 2010
By

The other day we discussed the wonder and the glory of the boob and how Apple has decided that boobs on your iPhone are bad.  As of today, Apple is holding steady with their deletion of boob-enhanced apps (all the while a topless dude app meant for hooking up with other, assumingly topless, males still lives on).

Well, Baby alerted me today that the assault on boobs continues unabated as Australia, yes AUSTRALIA, is now banning small-breasted women in adult films & publications????  WHAT THE FUCK?  Their pathetic reasoning is that small-breasted women are just a wee-bit to close to kiddie-porn and pedophilia.  Unreal.

As a boob-lover & connoisseur, I’m extraordinarily offended!  Not only is this very anti-women, anti-choice, anti-fucking-everything, it’s just asinine!  Because some sick blokes get off on kids, you are going to block a grown ass woman from expressing her sexuality as she sees fit because she’s an A-cup?  To continue working in the adult industry would mean a move from Australia or a boob-job?

Aussies…. c’mon.  Seriously.  C’m-the-fuck-on!

We, and I mean ALL of us, must celebrate the boobie!  Big ones, little ones, droopy, perky, large nipples, small nipples, pink, and brown!  Small breasts are wonderful, super-sexy, and a great break from all the ballooned tittied air-brushed Playboy/Baywatch Barbie dolls thrown at our faces constantly by the media.

To my wonderful Australian readers, wake up & rise up!  Don’t let this banning/censoring occur!

Speaking of boobs, in just over a month is our SUPER AWESOME NO-FRILLS BIKE RIDE for BREAST CANCER!!!

Breast cancer knows no cup size, effect all women, from sub-A’s to quintuple-Zs.  AND it looks like we have a start location!  We’ll make it official in March, but it looks like we will be starting at the Columbus Park Of Roses!  This will allow the 10 milers to stay on the Olentangy Bike Path, the 25er’s will venture off the path a little bit, and the 50 will take the path up and out, head into Delaware Country and loop their way back down!  Just working on a final route for the 25ers and we’ll be all set!

Ride for your sisters, your moms, your neighbors, your friends, and for yourself!  We’ve got some boobies to help save!!!!! Can’t wait, and hope to see you there with $20 bucks in your hand and a bicycle between your legs!!!

WOOOOT!

Okay, music….. It’s Twofer Friday today (why not, eh?) and before we get to the album stuck in my head, I think we need to get some tsuruloosies out of the way, take a look around the intertubal superhighway of love and see what’s hot!

Alright!  This time around, I had the foresight to upload my wheelies to give these guys some proper ratings!  WOOT!  As per usual, the rating is out of 5 WHEELIES!

But enough with the jibber-jabber, let’s get on with it (I feel so out of the hype-loop lately)…

She And Him – Thieves

Oh my yes….

The Pass – Colors

WOOP!  Get my 80′s style boogie on!!!

Penguin Prison – Something I’m Not

Zzzzz…….

Club 8 – Western Hospitality

HAHA!  WHEEE!

Dum Dum Girls – Jail La La

Feel like we’ve been here a million times before.

Kiki Pau – an old song

Reminds me of Okkervil.. in a good way!

Nada Surf – Electrocution (Bill Fox)

Nada Surf, like a cup of coffee, so good and comforting…

Pattern In Movement – Light Of The World

Uh.  No.  Well… maybe a little, just a little.  This one could grow on me…

Winter Hinterland – No Logic

At first, I was like “meh”, then I was like “oh my”!

Bettie Serveert – Deny All

Again…. Zzzzzzz……

End on a “Zzzzz”???  You thought we were done?!?!  HA!  Wait… did you?  I mean, it says right up in the post title Twofer Friday and the album we are going to review.  Seriously, if you didn’t know this was coming, I’m going to start worrying about you.

Yep, Tunng’s And Then We Saw Land!  Quite nice… basically classic folk-rock with bits and pieces of electronical goodness here and there.  At times it reminds me of that Sufjan guy with it’s sweet orchestral pop, other times it sounds like it’s pulled from right out of the late 60s/early 70s, other times, it’s sounds like the future.  Yeah, it’s kinda like that.  But aesthetically, it all fits together into a lovely way to wrap up a rather interesting and long week and that’s really all I got to say about that!

Just enjoy…

Our big announcement yesterday, catching up on some tsuruloosies, & El Turista by Josh Rouse

February 5, 2010
By

Photography by Maria

It’s Friday and a snow storm is a-comin’!  =o  Guess I’m pulling back out the snow bike this weekend, WOOT!  Speaking of cycling, how about our big announcement yesterday?  What?  You missed it?  Oh man…. well, if you are in or remotely near Columbus, OH, have access to a bicycle, guess what?  You have plans Saturday morning at 9am on April 3rd!

Awesome, right?  Actually… SUPER AWESOME!  Click on the flyer or HERE for details.  I hope you can make it, let’s raise some money for Breast Cancer, ride our bikes together, and have a BLAST!!!

Okay, it’s been a while and I’m starting to feel a little out of touch with the hyped up hopped up world of bloggable musica and you know me, I GOTTA keep my finger on the pulse on the neck of the music monster or something (not exactly how that phrase goes), though maybe a heart-rate monitor would do the trick.

Anyways — Ooo… the snow just started — how about we get reacquainted with what’s hot & what’s not with a couple tsuruloosies??   As always, I’ll keep any snarky comments to myself and just give you a rating.  This time, let’s mix it up a bit with a little Hope & Change, eh?  Each song has an opportunity to receive a maximum of 5 Obama Wheelies!

WHEEEEEEEE!  Here we go!

The Tallest Man On Earth – King Of Spain

Caribou – Odessa

Drive-by Truckers – This Fucking Job

Grizzly Bear – Boy From School (Hot Chip Cover)

Lali Puna – Remember

She & Him – In The Sun

Woo!  Fun, eh?  God, can’t WAIT for that She & Him album to leak!!!  I got my Fanboyism & Zooey crush set to KILL!  WOOT!  But for now, we got ourselves a little something different, though definitely on the lighter side of things with a new one from Josh Rouse, El Turista!

This is pretty sweet.  Though Roush purist may not love his new found adoption of Spain, listening to it in the vacuum of it’s own existence thanks to my musical amnesia to previous Roush albums, I gotta say… This is nice.  It’s escapist Spanish loungey fun.  Makes me want to order up a Mojito, actually pronounce the “J” as an “H” like you are supposed to (yes, I embarrass all my friends by giving Mojito a hard J.  Needless to say, we don’t go out for fajitas very often anymore), and just sit back, enjoy a hot & humid Florida day (takes me back) by the bay.

Confusing visuals, maybe, but who cares, just put on your guayabera shirt…

Load the album up, lean back, maybe light up a cigar — wait… when did El Turista become a Cuban album in my head? — and enjoy!

01. Bienvenido
02. Duerme
03. Lemon Tree
04. Sweet Elaine
05. Mesie Julian

tsuruloosies… Friday Fun Time Edition!

January 8, 2010
By

It’s been a while since we took a gander at all the hyped musical goodness floating around the intertubes, so let’s spend a few minutes “catching up” and seeing “what’s what”!

As per usual, we will eschew any scathing commentary of old for a simple wheelie rating (out of 5), much like 1983/84 world record breaker Stephane Colley from Paris, France who, at 18 years old, wheelied 22.53 miles (36.25km) according to the French Association of BMX (Association Francaise de Bi-Crossing). Apparently it took him 2 hours, 29 minutes to complete the feat! Hot diggity!

Though, not to belittle the feat but, no front wheel?? Really? Isn’t that kinda like just riding a unicycle for 22 1/2 miles? Anyway & regardless, let’s let’s pull up our fork and get on with it! Have a warm & safe & fun weekend!

Vic Chesnutt – Flirted With You All My Life

Rest in peace, Vic. Damn shame.

The Knife (In Collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock) – Colouring Of Pigeons

wow!

Love Is All – Kungen

Warpaint – Elephants

Pavement – Gold Soundz

Besnard Lakes – Albatross

Toro Y Moi – Blessa

best dance track I’ve heard in lard knows how long!

Hot damn! Nice collection of tracks today, eh? Good job bloggy-land!! YAY!!!

Cheers,
