I’m not quite sure if this is what ol’ Tsuru had in mind when he said: “Sure, come aboard. Your musical taste differs enough from mine to make this interesting!”

I remember the first time that I saw the dude perform live, at Rock Werchter in Belgium way back in 2003. I’d seen ‘over the top’ before, but this…this was ‘OVER THE TOP’! The man was posing, riffing, seducing, salivating, and belting out lyrics like this:
“Love it when It goes like boom!
And like that and like that and like that
Right behind ya…whoo”
and
“Beautiful girl, have your time
Just relax and wait a while
Ooh I caught you looking let’s start the cooking
You know what I’m saying?”
By now you must be thinking that I’m taking the piss here? Well I’m not.
Danko Jones fuqqin rocks. Nothing more and certainly nothing less. Balls to the wall rock and roll, and I like it. I like it a lot actually, and you would probably too if you drop the indie cred bullcrap for a moment.
