A new blog, an apology (in advance) & we finally listen to that jj album everyone was talking about last year….

Photography by me, wheee!

Yesterday we talked about moving forward and things in works and whatnots, right? Well, I’ve got a little news for you that will delight those who like their cycling & their music blogs separate (thank you very much) and hopefully make all you bike-loving fools out there, who for god knows why, like the way I jibber-jabber & wish I talked more about bikes happy as well, I’ve got a brand-spanking new blog!

I’m in cahoots with the good folks at roll: and I’ve been given permission to blog about cycling under the roll: umbrella and I came up with this super-creative name for the blog.

WOOHOO! Pretty creative of me, eh? I’ve already got my first post up sharing, what I call, a Rapha wear moment. Now, I’m still “moving in”, still got boxes to unpack, dishes to put away, a floor to sweep, so hopefully you enjoy as I fumble through a cycling blog, filling all the potholes along the way — yeah, how many more analogies do you need?

NOW…. for those of you who wonder if I sold out. I haven’t. I’m not getting paid to do this. I’m doing this pro-bono or something. So why with roll:? Well, I’ll tell ya…

  1. I love roll:, it’s MY LBS (local bike shop), I’ve fallen for the shop since the first time I walked in there and saw a beautiful BMC sitting by the front door.
  2. I love roll:’s egalitarian-cycling philosophy, they love to ride bikes, any & all bikes, from old 10-speed jalopies to giant beach-cruisers to the fanciest road bike on the market to the huge wheeled 29er single speed mountain bike and everything in between, no egos, no elitism, no “secret club” mentality, just get on yer bike and ride!
  3. And finally, because by blogging under/for roll:, I’ll have their love & support for some of the cycling events and rides I hope to do this year! I’ve got a charity ride in works and, if I get enough people following along, all kinds of fun spur of the moment bike-related “things” (there are some winks & nudges in that “things”).

So there you go. I’ll hope you’ll come over and ride with us. We can suck on each other’s wheels (not nearly as sexual as it sounds) on some of them epic rides! OH, and I got the twitter going on it too, tumblr & facebook action will be all set up this weekend!

And with that, I’d like to apologize in advance to roll:… Long-time readers of TSURURADIO (yes, I’m looking at you Bob) know that I’m an odd-duck. Hell, my elementary to high school nick-name was (besides “Driggs”) “Aaron The Weird”. Yeah. In a shop class, someone actually made me a button that said it. Yeah. So, roll:, I’m sorry for any weird, odd, eccentric, random, and often indecipherable things I may say and/or do. I guess, if anything, by bringing me on board, that says oodles about you as a bike shop (hopefully good oodles, the most delicious kind).

Speaking of the munchies, I’ve got to imagine today’s little obsession, an obsession that’s well overdue, is not too unfamiliar with a dorito craving or two judging from their album cover.

Where the hell was this album last year? It made a bunch of “best of” lists for 2009, was I just not watching the hit/hype makers at the right times? It’s chilly, it’s a little dancy, it’s trippy, it’s definitely got some stoner elements going on, and though it sounds like I’d hate it, I absolutely adore this. “Ecstacy” sounds like a song someone on trippin’ balls on X would be going through at the club! “From Africa to Malaga” sounds just like that, like it goes from Africa to Malaga (wherever the hell that is).

What the hell, Sweden? Wait, no, there is no one here to blame except me. Well, no time like the present!

Enjoy (though probably already did)!
