Oh man…. I’m so tired. Riding in, my legs were crying with every pedal, but that’s fine and ultimately I had a wet, achy, but good ride in. I sit down to get to work and I can barely keep my eyes open today! Oof. Well, fortunately, today is my “Friday” as we have tomorrow off for
Canada Day U.S. Independence Day! WOOT! Should be a nice three day weekend.
Plans? Well, I have a photoshoot to do tomorrow afternoon with a new model, so I hope that goes well, got a couple ideas we are bouncing off each other, and of course some riding is in order as baby & I plan on taking the Lambo out for a long ride, but beyond that, should be a pretty easy-peasy long weekend.
Speaking of low-key and becoming a perfect way to massage my weary legs comesmúm and their latest Sing Along To Songs You Don’t Know…
I’m not THAT familiar with múm, or a lot of Scandinavian music (Iceland is still Scandinavian, right?). Way back last year we featured a beautiful Society-made Scandinavian mixtape, but I’d be lying if I told you I followed that up loading my iPod with nothing but Icelandic music. So, when the new múm showed up on the intertubes I had already forgotten what múm was!
Fortunately, Our Society is chocked full o’ Scandinavian music fans and amúm album doesn’t pop up without them noticing… So, I load this up today, half asleep, and, I know I’ve used this word before but, it just washes over me (or “warshes” as I say in “real life”), but slowly, warm but kinda chilly in parts, quiet, trickling along, slowly, seeping into my clothes and over my skin.
Musically, it’s a lovely kind of weird or a weird kind of lovely, take “Kay-Ray-Ku-Ku-Ko-Kex” as they repeat the title (I think) while someone, way in the background, starts gurgling as the song ends. Okay, does that sound like another example of Animal Collective farting around? It’s not, instead is a delicate, quiet symphony of sounds and makes perfect sense in the song.
Really, just lovely……..
So, as it looks like it’s going to rain some more, as the grey skies and wet air lingers and lingers, let múm take over and pull you away from the drear and ache, let it work the tendons, relax your bones, and generally make it all okay….
