Happy Monday to you, my friends! How was your weekend? Mine? Well thanks for asking… it was jim-fucking-dandy! Saturday was the AGORA Art Show and Festival, I had a piece in the show & volunteered for a few hours, and Baby had a booth selling her amazing designs, lots of great art, designs, music (more on that later this week), and, of course, food! We were there all day and had one hell of a time. Baby had many of her fans coming to visit and I, of course, was her Senior V.P. of Bag Boy Duties as well as her Executive Seat-Filler-While-She-Peed, both of which, I believe, I fulfilled admirably! HA!
Here’s a photo of AGORA 2009: Independent Designers, Artists, and Musicians!!! DIY Nation at it’s best…..

Ah, then yesterday…. body beaten from 150 miles of riding over the last week (the TOUR De CURE is just around the corner! Not too late to DONATE!!!) and the long festival the day before resulted in a super relaxing day, not by design, but by necessity, including (but not limited to) throwing a blanket down in the backyard for a little R&R in the sun. Really, just a day of “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”…..
BUT….. I DID get something productive done yesterday! I finished our Eastern European Vacation Podcast-but-is-now-a-Mixtape! WOOT! Yeah, I’ve got a problem on the podcast front. When we first started doing them, they were basically mixtapes as one long mixed mp3, but then I started cutting those up which resulted in me basically upgrading the mixtape. So then the podcasts started having my own recorded sound effects and even some talking, but now our latest mixtape has recorded sounds and a hint of talking. It seems as though my podcasts are just precursors to the eventual mixtape upgrade! So what does this mean for the podcasts? No clue… I guess time will tell. But for now, we got our latest mixtape, so let’s talk about it!
Self-Portraits In Tram Mirror
As you know, Baby & I needed a vacation, as they say in Boston, “wicked hawd-corw”. Work & outside of work have been non-stop so we got away for about 10 days to Prague and then Budapest. It was amazing…. both cities are wonderful, yet so different. Where Prague was loaded with romantic old-world charm, Budapest was decidedly more modern and metropolitan. Where Prague was more for lovers (and smokers), Budapest was more for hipsters (and smokers). Both were simply wonderful….. Got plenty o’ photos over on my photo blog, TSURUFOTO, go check ’em out if you like! I think our next vacation will either be someting ecological (like the Galapogos Islands) or something Asian (like going to Beijing or something), but that’s neither here, it’s most definitely there.
So anyway, during the trip, I took advantage of my once lost Belkin iPod voice recorder attachment to grab some sounds of the trip. Just kept it in my bag and anytime a sound caught my ear, BLAMO! Out came the recorder! Then this weekend I collected some songs that fit the sound I was shooting for and mixed everything together, exported it, imported it, cut it, exported it, tagged it, gave it artwork, tested it, zipped it, uploaded it, tested it again, and finally am now getting it ready for you! Such a glamorous process….
Now the songs, in honestly, have NOTHING to do with Prague and/or Budapest. I guess if you tried really hard, you can get some inference from the song titles… “Niagara Falls” because my wife’s Canadian & a natural world wonder of beauty? “C’mon Sea Legs” & “Sleepless” because of being tired due to jet-lag? “At Last Dance” because the trip is starting to wrap up? “The Rails” because we rode the train for 7 hours from Prague to Budapest? Well, yeah, that last one fits… But beyond that, it’s pretty much coincidental, but that should stop you from trying to make it fit anyway!
Okay, I guess we covered enough jibber-jabberin’ for a Monday, let’s get to the music!!!! So enjoy your journey, our journey, and have a great day as…
