Well, my friends…. it’s time once again to say good-bye, adieu, aveda-shane, & ahoj as TsuruBride & I take a short leave of absence, a little break, yep, a little vacation for the next 10 days from the daily grind that is the routine of life. It’s funny, before I met baby, the idea of taking a full week off of work was a pretty foreign concept, how ironic it would take a foreigner to teach just how good & healthy a break from work could really be… Now if only we listened to Foreigner in the process, eh?
Therrrrre we go… now I’m ready.
Now don’t worry, I didn’t want you to be completely TSURU-Free during our leave, so for the past few weeks I’ve been working on a little project down in my basement. With a bit of glue, elbow grease, and tons of cussing, I created the TSURUBOT4000!!!
I built it from an old ipod, leftover bicycle parts, and my mom’s vacuum I “borrowed” 10 years back, and then we loaded it up with my entire iPod. Using a complicated algorithm & dense intertube programming, it will run the library through it’s system and post a song that you should, mathematically speaking, enjoy… Now, we take NO responsiblity for any “bad music” or “enslaving of all humans” that may or may not occur in our absence… But it should, theoretically, give you some good tracks to coat your ears! Say “allo” TB4K!
Oh, I guess I should note, it seems to have taken up a liking to Clone High for some reason… Please bare through this minor annoyance as best as possible. So anyways, for the next 10 days, TB4K will post a song or two a day (depending on how well I did the programming). But if you guys are finding any programming errors, pop me an email, I will have a computer and some intertube access during the break, so maybe I can fix him? We’ll see.
Hopefully, if a bit of insomnia or withdrawals kick in, I’ll even get a “howdy-do buckaroos” post up myself (though, I’ll admit, it’s pretty low on the priority list)! I’ve got plenty of new “reading material” to take with me that I could talk about. Check out what I packed inmy metaphorical suitcase (and a random song from each), I hardly have space for clean skivvies (goin’ commando…. alllllright)!

Exciting, eh? I hope some are good reads. And just for fun, shits, and giggles, as I’ve been meaning to put this up anyway, here’s a lil’ b-side from one of the best albums this year (so far), Technicolor Health by Harlem Shakes…
Fun, eh? AH! But we aren’t done yet… you didn’t think a list of my “reading material” & some random b-side would be your going away present, did you? C’mon, you know me better than that by now, right? You see, even though we may be gone, the “Tsuru Experience” doesn’t need to stop! Some of you are well aware of Our Society of music geeks & freaks and a few of you have Facebooked us, but for those who haven’t, man are you missing out!
From great conversations, mixtapes, wonderful albums, and (as you will see today) even collaborative vinyl rips, what lies beyond this pretty face called TSURURADIO.com is the bones and guts of a thriving music community! Which is why I’m very excited to demonstrate just how beautiful that community is…. It’s a small thing, but really, as you (should) know by now, in life it’s the small things that count.
One of members, Herki, wanted to share a vinyl rip of Simon & Garfunkel’s Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, & Thyme with the community.
Unfortunately, school kicked back in and he was only able to get Side One complete and posted! Ah, but have no fear, one of our resident artists, captgeech, step up and ripped Side Two and BLAMO, we had our first collaborative vinyl rip! Seriously, how awesome is that? Now, you may be thinking that’s it’s really not that awesome at all and that’s fine, but for those who understand the vinyl experience sharing process, a little appreciation has probably started crawling up your spine and planted itself firmly in the base of your skull.
Why this album? Well why not? It’s a classic from an essential band, a required listening for any music weirdo, and certainly better than popping in a greatest hits download. Besides, like I said, it serves as a great example of the kind of community going on behind this little bloggy blog of mine and to me, that’s pretty special.
So let’s do it, shall we? Thank you Herki & captgeech!!! Now, your turn to enjoy as…

Much love to all of you, as always, and I’m sure I’ll be checking in on the Facebooks & in the Society, so hope to see you in there!F A C E B O O K & O U R S O C I E T Y
