TSURURADIO Vinyl Preservation Society Presents… Story’s Very Best Songs Of 2008!!!

Cover presented by Story

Hello and allo, happy Monday! It’s a cold one today, down to a nasty 3°F today (windchill drops it to -1,000° or something fucked up like that), it’s the kinda cold that gives you lips that weird blue feeling, no what I mean? Like you can feel the color blue, and your nose gets so numb, you are snotting on your face without even realizing it. No worries, everyone is, no need to be embarrassed. I love it. It’s crazy! I remember as a kid (well, and an adult) down in Florida, the worse we had to worry about was it getting cold enough that you had to cover the bushes. They used to protect the strawberry crops by hitting them with sprinklers, creating a layer of ice around them, cocooning them, from the windchill. But even that was what, 20°? As the lowest, middle of the night lows? Psh. Child’s play…. THIS is cold. The kind of cold where a bike commute could cost you a few toes if you aren’t careful (yeah, I did an hour on my indoor trainer today).

Maybe it’s the cold, maybe it’s frozen my little brain, but I felt like getting up a massive collection of the best songs of 2008 as presented by Society Member (one of our first) & VIP Story, a collection of 42 absolutely amazing songs this, well, amazing year has given us, even though the holidays & work have sucked every available second from me… It had to be done.

Now some of these you’ve seen here & there before, in a mixtape or on a featured album, but even if they’ve been featured 100 times (and Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” may have been at this point), they still deserve a little more love and praise, as it’s always to each their own and when it comes to music as Story so daftly demonstrates, there are no wrong songs (well, except she DID leave out Islands, which breaks my fragile fragile heart just a tiny tiny bit…. ha)!

Thank you so much Story, as always….

Well, I need to go mail off a few more packages (man, this holiday is expensive) before the shipping deadline hits and before we head up to Canada, so, as Story would say, “without further nonsense, here it is” as the…
