TSURURADIO Vinyl Preservation Society Presents… Mixtape By Numbers Volume Two

Photography by Julie Rey

Say whaaaat? We already got enough songs for Volume Two, or as the French Canadian says, “Volume Deux, eh”? Fuck yeah! Or as the French Canadian would also say, “Qu├ębec Devienne Souverain!” Seems like just the other day we squeaked out our first twenty songs in our first volume of our much hailed and heralded Mixtape By Numbers, but our amazing members down in the society weren’t content to stop at 20 (oh hell no) and pulled off what felt like would be an impossibility (at the very least, and improbability), by getting us up to #40!!! Oh ho ho, my friends, we ain’t even done yet, because, as I’m writing this, I had just put up number forty-three!

Fuck yeah, indeed, mon ami Quebecois…

How high can we go? Only the good lard knows that one for sure, well that and probably some super audio geek out there with a wee-bit too much time on his hands. But that’s not here, it’s there, and here is what we worry more about, right? So here where we will be… And so far, here, we have now forty tracks ready and waiting for your love.

Possible Tsururadio fan, spammer, and stalker Greg Easterbrook once said “Torture numbers and they’ll confess to anything”, but what happens when the numbers torture you? What do you confess? What do we learn about rwh0620 who posted our Volume Two closer, number 40, with Cursive’s “Dorothy At Forty” or when Story posted the “Thirty-Three” by Smashing Pumpkins calling it a “no-brainer”? Well, I don’t work for the government so I’ll have to leave it to someone with a potential presidential pardon to figure those secrets out. What I care about is the music, and oh buddy, this one’s interesting! We got old school prog Genesis, the girl-group Shirelles, Mr. Pop AC Newman, instrumental Nine Inch Nails, Ireland’s own Cranberries, and even a little bit of that apple pie lovin’ Ryan Adams in there. You can’t say our little society of geeks and freaks ain’t an eclectic little bunch! Besides… if you did, I’d have to challenge you to a duel, and I trust me, you don’t want to duel with me when my beloved society’s good name (and death) is on the line!!!

And on that note, I’d like to thank our society (yet again) for putting together yet another amazing mixtape working on another fun project. And now, for the rest of you, grab, load, and enjoy as the…
