TSURURADIO Vinyl Preservation Society Presents… Sonic Nurse on 2xLP Vinyl!!!

Photography by Vladimir Borowicz

Next up, another member vinyl rip, this time another by sonicjamesdean and it’s a beaut… Sonic Youth’s Sonic Nurse!!! Now, we featured a Sonic Youth vinyl rip before when we presented Daydream Nation, and I’m constantly amazed. This is another one of those bands that should be lauded, not only for their longevity of their existence in these days of the on-going commoditization (I think I just made that word up) of music, but also for the sheer quality of their output! Much like one of my mainstay loves REM, yet on a completely different musical point of view. Sonic Youth is a love or hate band, the addition of noise and the lack of an easy-peasy melody will do that to a band. Sonic Nurse will not win Sonic Youth many any new fans, but for those of you who can’t get enough, Sonic Nurse, especially on it’s natural vinyl state, is a joy to immerse yourself in, to listen, to try to catch ever little nuance these guys laid down for us… Amazing.

So thank you sonicjamesdean! Alright let’s bring the good times as…

Loving these vinyl posts — even picked up the Fleetwood Mac one, wch if you knew me you would know if highly uncharacteristic. Something about that shitty street-vinyl sound…

Anyhow, I hope you don't mind that you've inspired me to a project of my own, this one centered around digitizing cassette tapes. Not a sharing blog per se, although there will be some sharing of these cassette rips. It won't start up for a couple weeks yet, but I wanted to give thanks & a heads-up. It'll be something like "hi-fi-fobe" or other. Will update as it progresses.

    Thanks again!

That sounds fantastic! We’d be honored to have you down in the society to share your cassette rips!

I can’t wait to see what you get going!
