You cannot make me read your tiny mind

…man, what a shitty morning!!! stomach problems, but got straight to ride in, riding in with my friend Patrick, his first time, so I was his guide for the path…. no problem, good pacing, blamo, hit some glass and I blow a tire, didn’t have a tube & patch-kit (because UPS keeps using their “discretion” to NOT leave my package on my porch)… draw a map for patrick and start calling baby to get me. phone’s downstairs, she’s upstairs, asleep. yay. patrick calls.. he’s lost. yay. finally get baby… she comes and gets me (thank you baby!!) we follow my path to see if we see patrick, nope. we need to stop at starbucks, my stomach again. yay. FINALLY get to work… patrick calls, he’s alive & he made it! but baby lost her cottage cheese she brought in for breakfast.. where? we don’t know.. uh oh… So, at lunch, going to a nearby bike shop, getting another tube (can’t have too many), tire, and handpump…
will repair my bike, possibly at work, then ride home. =P or, maybe the fates are against me and I just try again tomorrow….. Oof.

Honestly, I’m listening to the Avery Island vinyl rip from this weekend to help sooth ye ol’ nerves, but since I posted that, obviously, figured I’ll post something we’ve been listening to for a while, and was in the car all weekend long, something I really should’ve posted on already, Martha Wainwright’s I Know Your Married… But I’ve Got Feelings Too. It’s a very interesting album, her voice, I’d imagine, is a love or hate thing for some people, the whole album makes me think of Kate Bush a little bit, but with a bit more country, sometimes pop, sometimes folk, sometimes it’s got this Hindi kinda thing to it (huh?), yeah, it’s the way she fluctuates her voice & the sometimes tinny way it comes out, it makes me think of all the amazing music I heard walking around India. I don’t know, I just smashed my elbow between my desk and chair…. lol (all you can do is laugh, right?) gonna be a good day ‘tator. Lordy.

*sniff*

Alright, just put Wainwright back on… yeah, good times. Warsh the day away Martha, and let’s start over, shall we? Time to get working toward getting this day over with and in the books. For you, it’s just time to enjoy….

Martha Wainwright – 01 Bleeding All Over You

Martha Wainwright – 02 You Cheated Me
Martha Wainwright – 03 Jesus And Mary

Remember when you said we’d marry
The wilder shores of love
The tide, it changes fast
Ah when you’re fast it never lasts

I cannot read between your lines
You cannot make me read your tiny mind
Oh who’s got the time
Oh you’d go blind

Jesus and Mary
Are takin’ me down to the other side of town
Where they don’t count the days
With steel blades on the walls of time
They just dance naked in the sun all the time

She’s the jewel in your crown
But I’m the goal that’s gonna weigh you down
I’ll keep you around this dirty old town

Every time I put the stove on
Dinner’s cold by the time you come over
Oh you turn over on that cold shoulder

Jesus and Mary
Are takin’ me down to the other side of town
Where they don’t count the days
With steel blades on the walls of time
They just dance naked in the sun all the time

And you call and you call my name
Baby, hazy, lazy
Oh I am not an animal

When I lie back, I lie on my back
Baby, hazy, lazy
Oh I’ll sign on the dotted line

Don’t bring me down
Don’t bring me down
Don’t bring me down, no
Don’t bring me down
Don’t bring me down
Don’t bring me down
Don’t bring me down
