At the place where your soul had died

Well… movin’ on from “the red album” for now, and put back on another gem from last week’s crazy leaky goodness. Quite the opposite of Weezer, as I’ve never been a big fan of Death Cab, but after about 4 or 5 fake leaks that resulted in a bunch of people discovering some German band (velvet something or another), Narrow Stairs finally reared it’s little head on the interweb.

So, being as I’m open to anything and willing to try anything twice, popped this bad boy on le i-pod for a go around again to clear out the mucky muck. Much to my joy, the super wimpy feel of the earlier work that I’m familiar with was gone, and in it’s place was some pretty enjoyable & pleasant pop with a hint of rock. It’s peppered with an influence here and there (like the 3rd world Peter Gabriel feel on “Pity & Fear”), but for the most part, it’s pretty straight-forward. After the yucky taste of a good comfort meal gone awry with Weezer, this is a welcome listen.

Now… pass me dem potaters….
